Where Sydney businesses need the extra set of eyes
Sydney's commercial space is spread across a few very different belts. The big distribution and light-industrial estates sit in the west and south-west: Wetherill Park, Smithfield, Moorebank, Ingleburn. Closer in, Silverwater, Rydalmere and Auburn hold older factory units and trade counters, while Alexandria and Mascot mix warehousing, studios and freight forwarders near the airport and Port Botany.
Most of these places go quiet at about the same time. A unit that is busy until 5pm can be empty for fourteen hours, and the cameras recording during that time only help if someone looks at them. That is the gap our AI layer fills.
How the model works in Sydney
Your footage stays on your own recorder. Our analysis runs on an Australian server, working from frames pulled off that recorder, and keeps the events and clips it finds. Outside Queensland, we use a local installer for the physical work. They handle cabling, mounting and any new cameras. We set up, connect and support the AI layer, and we do that remotely.
In practice that means a Sydney business with a working recorder often needs no new hardware at all. Many existing systems are reusable, though what is possible depends on the cameras and recorder you have. We check this before anything is quoted. See how it works for the steps from camera to inbox.
Typical Sydney sites and what we watch
- Industrial units and warehouses. Roller doors, loading bays and dock yards. A zone or tripwire across a dock door logs each movement, and a scheduled after-hours sweep emails you if a person appears. See warehouses and logistics.
- Workshops and trade yards. Utes, tools and trailers stay on site overnight. Gate and yard views matter more than the building. See workshops.
- Strata and commercial buildings. Car parks, bin rooms, lift lobbies. The event timeline lets a manager search a time window instead of scrubbing through hours. See offices and strata.
Sydney conditions that affect the install
Western Sydney summers are hot. Cameras on west-facing walls in places like Smithfield or Seven Hills take direct afternoon sun, and a bad housing choice shows up as fogged lenses or failed units. Low sun also causes glare at gates, so placement counts as much as resolution.
Older Silverwater and Rydalmere buildings sometimes have patchy cabling and crowded switch cupboards. Near the water at Mascot, Botany and Arncliffe, salt air is hard on exposed fittings, so we plan for sealed connections and corrosion-resistant mounts.
Surveillance rules apply in NSW, for example the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 and the Workplace Surveillance Act 2005. This is general information, not legal advice, and you should check the current legislation for your own situation. In general, audio is treated more strictly than video, staff should be told, and signage matters.
Getting started
Send us the make of your recorder, a rough site plan and the hours you want covered. We will confirm what the AI layer can do on your system before you commit. If you are comparing options in other cities, the areas overview lists where we work, and Newcastle covers the next large NSW centre. To discuss a site, contact us.
