A coast with several centres
Unlike a single-core city, the Sunshine Coast has centres strung along the Bruce Highway and the coast road. Maroochydore and Kunda Park are the main commercial and trade hub. Caloundra and Warana have their own industrial pockets. Noosaville and Noosa Heads are hospitality and tourism heavy. Yandina, Landsborough and Beerwah sit in the hinterland, with sheds, produce and small manufacturing.
That spread matters for a service business. A site in Beerwah is a long way from the beach cafes, and a camera system there is often a farm-shed or rural-yard job with different needs.
Where the AI layer helps most
Trade and workshop estates. Kunda Park and nearby units hold utes, tools and stock. A gate view with an after-hours sweep covers the most common risk. See workshops and construction sites, as building activity is steady across the coast.
Hospitality. Noosa, Mooloolaba and Coolum cafes and restaurants have back lanes and bin areas to watch after close. Event logs on back doors record when staff left and whether anyone returned. See hospitality.
Rural and hinterland sites. Produce sheds, machinery and equipment yards around Yandina and Beerwah. See farms and rural.
Retail. Shopfronts in Maroochydore and Caloundra, where counting people at the door and a record of closing time are useful. See retail shops.
Our own team installs here
South East Queensland is where we install ourselves. That includes the Sunshine Coast. Our team handles cabling, mounting, the recorder and the AI layer, which keeps responsibility in one place. The installation page sets out what a job involves.
What the coast does to equipment
- Salt and humidity. Beachside sites at Mooloolaba, Coolum and Caloundra face salt-laden air. We use sealed connectors and corrosion-conscious mounts.
- Storms. Summer lightning strikes are a risk to cabling and recorders, particularly on long outdoor runs between sheds. Surge protection is a sensible inclusion.
- Hinterland distances. Beerwah and Yandina properties may have long cable runs or patchy internet. A mobile backup connection can keep alerts flowing if the main line drops.
- Dense bush edges. Sites bordering bushland can produce false triggers from animals at night. Zones and sensible placement reduce that.
For law, Queensland's Invasion of Privacy Act 1971 is, for example, one relevant statute. This is general information, not legal advice, and you should check current legislation for your own situation. Staff should know about cameras, and audio is handled more strictly than video.
Where to start
Send us your recorder model, the layout and the hours you want watched. If your cameras can feed the AI layer, we can add it without replacing hardware, and we will tell you plainly if a camera needs changing. Read how it works, or head to contact. If you operate in Brisbane too, see Brisbane.
