Two Gold Coasts
There is the visitor Gold Coast, with cafes, restaurants and bars from Southport to Burleigh Heads, and there is the working one, in estates at Molendinar, Arundel, Carrara, Nerang and Yatala. The AI alert layer helps both, though in different ways.
The coastal strip: hospitality and retail
Venues along the strip close late and open early, and the lanes behind them are where trouble tends to show up. Back doors, bin enclosures and deliveries are the usual concerns. Counting at the front door and an event log of when the back door opened give owners a record without watching a screen. See hospitality and retail shops.
Salt air is the main hardware issue on the coast. Anything within a few streets of the beach corrodes faster, so we use sealed connectors, suitable mounts and a sensible maintenance eye on exposed fixings. Burleigh Heads, Miami and Currumbin sites need it most.
The estates: trade, boats and storage
Molendinar and Arundel hold trade suppliers, workshops and distribution units. Yatala, to the north, has a mix of larger sites and transport businesses. Ashmore, Bundall and Carrara have showrooms, offices and light industry. The Gold Coast also has a sizeable marine trade, so boat yards and chandlers have valuable gear sitting outside.
For these sites, we recommend a gate and perimeter view with a tripwire along the fence line and an after-hours sweep of selected cameras. See workshops, self-storage and warehouses and logistics.
Who does the work
The business is based on the Gold Coast, and our own team installs across South East Queensland. We handle cabling, cameras, recorder setup, the AI layer and ongoing support. Details of the process are on the installation page.
Conditions to plan for
- Storms and lightning. Summer storms are frequent. Surge protection on long cable runs and recorder power is a sensible inclusion.
- Humidity. Condensation inside housings is common in cheaper cameras. We choose weather-rated units and seal terminations properly.
- Seasonal crowds. Peak holiday periods change foot traffic and after-hours patterns. Alert hours can be adjusted if your trading pattern changes.
- Heat in switch cupboards. A recorder crammed into an unventilated cupboard in a roofed estate unit will run hot. We look for airflow.
On the legal side, Queensland has the Invasion of Privacy Act 1971, for example. This is general information, not legal advice, and you should check current legislation for your own situation. Audio recording is treated more strictly than video, and cameras should stay out of toilets and change rooms.
Quoting and next steps
Tell us what recorder you have, how many cameras and when the site is empty. If the existing gear is compatible, the AI layer can often be added without a rip-and-replace, and we will say plainly where hardware is the limit. See how it works or get in touch. Our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast pages cover neighbouring regions.
