Neither Sydney nor Newcastle
The Central Coast has its own commercial identity. Gosford is the main centre, with offices, government services and hospitality by the waterfront. Erina and West Gosford hold retail, car yards and trade suppliers. Somersby, up the hill, is the main industrial park, with manufacturers, food producers and distribution businesses. Tuggerah and Wyong, to the north, have trade estates and a large retail precinct, and Warnervale is a newer commercial growth area. Woy Woy and Umina Beach serve the peninsula, and Bateau Bay and The Entrance are the beach-town strips.
Many Central Coast workers commute to Sydney or Newcastle, which means a lot of local businesses are staffed from early morning to late afternoon and empty overnight.
Settings and the alert layer
Somersby and Kariong. Larger lots, bush on the boundary and long approach roads. Perimeter views and a gate camera give a clear record of arrivals after hours. See warehouses and logistics and workshops.
Erina and Gosford car yards. Cars and keys exposed to the street at night. A scheduled after-hours check emails you when a person appears. See car yards.
Waterfront hospitality. Gosford, The Entrance and Umina cafes and bars, where back doors and bin areas matter. See hospitality.
Tuggerah retail and offices. Shared buildings and customer-facing floors. See retail shops and offices and strata.
How the service is delivered
Our own team installs in South East Queensland. Here, a local installer handles cabling and mounting, and we set up, connect and support the AI layer. The footage is on your recorder, and we hold the events and clips. See how it works for the path from camera to email.
Bush, water and wildlife
The Central Coast is surrounded by bushland and national park, and bushfire risk is part of life. Sites near the bush edge, including parts of Kariong and Somersby, need to think about smoke and ember exposure for equipment. Gear in exposed positions should be rated for heat, and recorders belong inside a solid building.
Bush edges bring wildlife. Kangaroos, wallabies and possums trigger cameras at night. Zones that leave the bush edge out, and placement that looks along a fence rather than at the trees, reduce false alerts.
Close to the water at The Entrance, Woy Woy and Brisbane Water, salt air and humidity affect connectors. Sealed fittings help. Lightning does hit the ranges in summer, so surge protection on cabling is wise.
Mobile coverage in valleys can be uneven. A site that depends on 4G for its link should have the signal tested, since a weak signal affects alerts.
NSW has, for example, the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 and the Workplace Surveillance Act 2005. This is general information, not legal advice, so check current legislation for your own situation. Staff should be told about cameras, and signs help.
